Achievements

For the last 25 years , Ramón Morales have been involved in every aspect of new venture development in the technology field.

He was President and Chief Operating Officer of Protocom Devices, a data communications firm he co founded in 1983 raising over 10 million dollars: 5.3 miilion from the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey in 1985 to build an advanced manufacturing facility, a 40,000 sq ft. state of the art operation And 4.7 million dollars in a successful public underwriting in 1986.

The company was an early leader in the development of synchronous protocol devices to X.25 packet switch networks. The company developed more than 30 protoocol devices for the growing packet networks in the US and around the world.The company sparked the first interstate banking network(CalFED and Barnett Banks) , the first state government administrative network (Pennsylvania) and the first global network for Army personnel (MILPERCEN)

Major projects summary:

1. Port Authority’s Willow Avenue Incubator -a full office space and support services facility to spur small business development in the South Bronx in 1985

2. Planning and consultant to High Tech Accelerator in Guaynabo, Puerto Rico a 20,000 sq ft facility to support fast growth technology companies in the software sector in 2004.

3. The development and deployment of network infrastructure for the Puerto Rico Public Housing Administration to support an island wide technology driven modernization effort in 1996. Served as chief architect/project manager raising 35 million dollars from the Federal Housing and Urban Development agency for the PRPHA’s technology plan whose successful execution led directly to the agency’s emergence from troubled status in 1997.

4. Led product development effort at several Silicon Valley companies. Successfully demonstrated an advanced Portable Media Player prototype at the CES International Show in Las Vegas Jan 07
